Our Vision
At Dream Forge, we aim to inspire creativity and wonder through our handcrafted, heirloom-quality pieces. Our goal is to add fun to your day either through music, mugs or even cosplay items. These handmade objects blend ancient traditions with modern craftsmanship, infusing a sense of whimsy and the enduring magic of story. Each item we make from raw materials reflects the artistry of our skilled luthier and artists. Our little shop, here in the Ozarks, works hard to make sure that feeding your imagination is within easy reach every day.
Our Story
It started with a birthday present.
We bought Brian a hammered dulcimer kit for his birthday from the Engler Block in Branson, Missouri. When we called with a few assembly questions, the owner, Art, gave us an invitation we never expected:
“Come on in and build it here for free!”
So we did.
What started as one birthday project turned into over five years of learning, building and playing. We got to join an amazing community we didn't know we were looking for.
We helped build hundreds of mountain dulcimers, hammered dulcimers, and dulcimer sticks. We helped open two new stores, spent as much time as we could playing on the Pickin' Porch, and learned from the musicians, makers, and customers who crossed our paths.
Eventually, building someone else's instruments wasn't enough. We wanted to make our own.
That fed naturally into another passion of ours: Renaissance Faires. We worked the next few years building instruments for faires in Kansas City and St. Louis/Wentzville. We started experimenting, designing, and got to see what happened when we stopped following someone else's plans and started making things our way.
And somewhere along the way, DreamForge was born.
We never really stopped. We never looked back.
Today, we make instruments, pottery, and other wonderfully immersive objects for people who, like us, still believe the world is more interesting when you leave a little room for imagination.
That's what DreamForge is about.
